Known & Underknown Ed.2017

Everyone know someone But not everyone knows everyone

September 18–November 17, 2017

The gulf coast is a fertile place, continuously reinventing itself and reasserting itself. And the city of Houston, teeming with diversity and expansion, continues to envision new frontiers, nurturing opportunity. This exhibition of some of the artists of our city and this dynamic region, captures the diversity of vision and intention, reflection and humor, heartfelt concern, and penetrating engagement. We find in the organic order of the delicate symmetry of nature, the strength of inherent light. And through a variety of media we are reminded, once again, that we all share in the commonplace and the extraordinary.

Artists: Lydia Bodnar-Balahutrak, Michael Crowder, Karen Eisele, Carter Ernst, Sarah Fisher, Jay Giroux, Megan Harrison, Hillerbrand+Magsamen, Meredith Jack, Page Kempner, Cindee Travis Klement, Laura Lark, Mark Larsen, Caroline Layne, Kristin Musgnug, Vanessa Nasta, Russell Prince, Katya Vassilyeva, Debbie Wetmore, and Shang-Yi Hua

Curated by Sally Reynolds

In cooperation with the artists, Art Palace, Cindy Lisica Gallery, Devin Borden Gallery, Inman Gallery, Moody Gallery, Nicole Longnecker Gallery, and Rudolph Blume Fine Art/Art Scan Gallery
