Known & Underknown

Everyone Knows Someone But Not Everyone Knows Everyone

April 20–September 12, 2016

An exhibition in 1600 Smith Street in Houston, Texas.

The third coast, our gulf coast, is teeming with expansion, diversity, and the ability to envision new frontiers and push out for them. And, it is also teeming with extraordinary visual artists and their visionary dealers. This exhibition of some of the artists of the Gulf Coast captures the diversity of vision and intention, reflection and humor, heartfelt concern, the organic order undercutting all, and the ethereal beauty of light itself. It is a rich tapestry strengthened by many fibers and many colors, and it reflects the strength, energy, and importance of the arts.

Artists: David Aylsworth, Amanda Michelle Barry, Andrea Bianconi, Carlos Canul, Felipe Contreras, Matthew Craven, Shala De David, Esther Delaquis-Baidoo, Clark Derbes, Joey Fauerso, Rachel Gardner, Marcos Hernandez, Bradley Kerl, Bill Meek, Seth Miller, Hans Molzberger, Kelly O'Connor, Beth Secor, Joel Stanulonis, Brad Tucker, and Bill Willis

Curated by Sally Reynolds

In cooperation with the artists and Art Palace, Barbara Davis Gallery, Devin Borden Gallery, David Shelton Gallery, Esperson Gallery, Inman Gallery, Meek Studio, Redbud Gallery, Samara Gallery, and The Visual Arts Department at Houston Baptist University
